Updates on Ukraine/ SCOTUS News/ ERA/ WWE Information/ Cuomo's Next Moves?

As speculation increases regarding whether Andrew Cuomo will run for Governor or not, New York political officials are desperately scrambling to find a way to keep him from doing so. The Comptroller, DiNapoli is particularly interested in jump starting the nursing home scandal. This is absurd because not only did Ways and Means determine Trump’s CDC directed that Covid positive patients be sent back to nursing homes but the DOJ dropped the case.

Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation hearings began Monday. Judge Jackson is the newest nominee for the Supreme Court. The hearings have been extremely heated. Republicans have descended up Jackson like a pack of hyenas while the Democrats sat back with popcorn and watched. Mitch McConnell has already declared he will not support her, but Joe Manchin has said that he will. Unfortunately, it does not look good for her.

Meanwhile SCOTUS Judge Clarence Thomas was admitted to the hospital last Friday with “flu like symptoms” and diagnosed with an infection of some kind. We have received little to no updates on him one week later. Is he on a ventilator or on the mend? We have no idea.

Surprisingly, Judge Thomas’ wife, Virginia Thomas, is under fire after texts between her and Mark Meadows surfaced where they discussed The Big Lie. She was caught advising Meadows, Trump’s former Chief of Staff. Her texts insinuate that her husband was helping advise the White House on how to cheat at the election. If this is true, Judge Thomas would have to recuse himself from any case against Trump or regarding January 6, 2021. These two events seem to coincide in a very odd way.

It has been one month since the beginning of the Russian war on Ukraine. Putin has shown no signs of slowing down. In fact world leaders President Biden, PM Justin Trudea, and PM Boris Johnson among others met with NATO on Thursday where they planned to boost troops in Eastern Europe. It appears they expect Putin to expand his war beyond Ukraine.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was met with outright hostility at the NATO meeting. He was condemned for his (mis)handling of the Trucker Convoy protests in Canada. Other leaders called him an “authoritarian, dictator, and hypocrite”. They asked him to leave.

Nebraska Republican Representative Jeff Fortenberry was convicted of a felony for campaign fund fraud on Thursday. He was caught accepting foreign money. Oddly enough he gets to retain his seat.

On March 16 Jussie Smollett was released from jail as his lawyers appealed his 5 month sentence due to double jeopardy. Smollett posted bail and bolted.

The Equal Rights Amendment continues to sit in limbo as we wait for President Biden to follow through with his promise to get it published into the constitution. Meanwhile, women are losing abortion rights across the country at an alarming speed. After all, we are considered 2nd class citizens.

The current archivist will retire on April 15, Good Friday. Now is the time to get the ERA published and ensure women and men are equal according to the highest law!

Oklahoma made a giant stride towards banning ALL abortions, no exceptions, on Tuesday when the bill passed The House. On Wednesday, the Idaho Governor Brad Little, signed an abortion law banning abortions after 6 weeks. He did this even though he seems to be hesitant about it. When will the Dems actually do something about this?

On Thursday New York City Mayor Eric Adams lifted the vaccine mandates for athletes and other performers, but not state employees or health care workers. People are speculating he will get sued over it. It would be a bit insulting to the workers who were fired for refusing to get vaccinated if he had lifted it for all.

Jen Psaki tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday.

The Covid-19 vaccine Novavax continues to sit in limbo as the FDA has sat on the application for over 90 days. Haven’t they had enough time to get it done? Many are waiting on this vaccine who cannot take the other ones available due to various reasons.

Reminder: the Covid-19 pandemic is not over yet. Everyone should be wearing a mask and getting vaccinated whenever possible.

The first female Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright passed on Wednesday at the age of 84 from cancer.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are about 3 weeks away from trial. As the countdown begins a Virginia judge allowed Heard’s counterclaim of defamation against Depp to go forward. This ongoing battle between the two has been an utter scandal.

Full House and Fuller House star, Dave Coulier, says that his sobriety has lasted for more than 2 years and that his “heart is no longer closed”.

Bob Saget’s autopsy results confirmed the actor passed away after a fatal head injury in his hotel room. However, the autopsy also failed to identify what he hit his head on. His family has asked for space and we send them positive thoughts.

Brittney Griner, an American basketball star, is still being held in Russia on marijuana charges. The WNBA has been working with the US Government to get her freed with no success. President Biden has no plans to fight for her. She will be held until at least May 19. So far she is in good condition.

WrestleMania will be held over two nights April 2nd and 3rd in Texas. NXT Stand and Deliver will air on night 1 of WrestleMania at 12P EST.
